GASTRIC CALIBRATION TUBE

The gastric calibration tube is a device used in bariatric surgery to perform gastroplasties such as sleeve gastrectomy, bypass, or gastric band placement. It takes the form of a silicone tube, with or without an inflatable balloon. It is used to calibrate the stomach during procedures, and inflating the balloon helps create a gastric pouch below which a gastric band will be placed.
